Bird Netting

A net only works if it is fitted properly. A loose or badly measured net leaves gaps at the corners and fixing points, which is exactly where birds get back in within a few weeks. Every opening we net is measured individually rather than cut from a standard roll size, and we fit pigeons and sparrows differently: a 50mm mesh stops pigeons, but sparrows need the finer 19mm mesh, so the right size depends on which bird is actually the problem.
We use Garware knot free polyethylene net, UV stabilised and heat treated so the knots do not slip loose over time, pulled taut on a 2mm stainless steel wire perimeter fixed with SS 304 grade hardware throughout. The frame and fixings are what stop the net sagging over time, not the net alone. Net comes in black or translucent white, and a zip panel can be built into the net so an AC unit or drain behind it stays reachable for servicing without taking the whole net down.
We fit bird netting for balconies, terraces, ducts, shafts and full facades across Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai, on individual flats as well as full housing society elevations.
Understanding bird netting
Knowing what to look for means catching an infestation early, before it spreads and before the treatment gets more involved.
Pigeons roosting on the balcony rail
Regular perching on a rail or ledge is usually the stage before nesting begins.
Droppings and feathers collecting
Build up on the floor or furniture means the balcony has already been claimed as a perch.
Nesting material behind AC units
Twigs and debris gathering in gaps and voids point to an active nest nearby.
An old net has torn or sagged
A net past its life loses tension at the edges, and birds find their way back through the gap.
Our bird netting process
Every job runs the same steps, with no shortcuts and no surprise charges between them.
Site Survey
We measure the opening and check what the net can be anchored to.
Frame Preparation
A stainless steel wire perimeter is prepared to the exact size of the opening.
Net Fitting
The net is fitted across the frame and pulled taut at every fixing point.
Tension Check
We check the full span for slack corners before handover.
Why choose our bird netting
Exactly what a standard visit covers, so there's nothing to guess at before we arrive.
- Individual measurement of every balcony, duct, shaft or facade opening, with mesh size matched to pigeons or sparrows
- Supply and fitting of UV stabilised, knot free net on a tensioned stainless steel wire frame
- SS 304 grade net bolts, hog rings and fixings suited to Mumbai humidity and coastal air
- Clearing of existing droppings and nesting material before the net goes up
- Tension check and after sales support once fitted

Frequently asked questions
1. Will the net block my view or airflow?
The net is fine gauge and knot free, so from inside a balcony it is barely noticeable and it does not meaningfully cut light or airflow.
2. Do I need pigeon mesh or sparrow mesh?
Pigeons are stopped by a 50mm mesh, but sparrows are small enough to fly straight through that gap and need the finer 19mm mesh instead. We confirm which bird is actually the problem during the site visit rather than assuming.
3. Can bird netting double as a child safety net?
Many clients do fit it for that reason as well, since a properly tensioned net on a secure frame also stops a child or pet from getting through a balcony opening. If safety is the main reason, we can also advise on invisible grills for the same opening.
4. Do you offer a warranty on the net?
Yes. The net and fitting come with a workmanship warranty, and we explain the maintenance it needs at handover so it keeps working for years rather than only until the first monsoon.
